Step 1: Access the Explore Section:

  • Start by logging into your Chalk account. Once logged in, access the Explore section from the dashboard or navigation menu.

Step 2: Browse NFT Stories and Collections:

  • The Explore page displays an array of NFTs categorized under "Trending" and "Chalk Collections".

  • In the Trending Section, you can view NFT Stories. Upon clicking on any NFT, you'll be taken to the NFT Details page, where you can view the NFT Story. The Story can include pictures, videos, GIFs, and text.

  • In the Chalk Collection section, you can view collections. Upon clicking on any Collection card, you'll be taken to the Collection Details page, where you can view the NFT Stories inside that collection, the collection mint status, the number of NFTs, pricing, etc.

Step 3: NFT Story Preview

Select an NFT Card: Hover over any NFT to view its story.

From the story option, you can view the NFT and its associated story. Preview the NFT Story by sliding to the next item in carousel mode.

Step 4: NFT Page:

  • NFT Card Details: Click on any NFT to view its story. Here, you can find comprehensive information about the NFT, including uploaded content and associated metadata.

  • Select a Collection Card: Click on any collection card to explore the details of that specific collection.

    • Collection Details Page: This page provides details such as the total number of NFTs within the collection, the mint status, and other relevant data.

Filters for improved Discovery:

  • Trending NFTs: These are NFTs that have seen recent sales activity in popular marketplaces like Opensea and Rarible, highlighting new or currently popular items.

  • Top NFTs: These represent the collections with the highest sales volume, indicating widespread interest and potential value.

How to Mint an NFT

Minting or purchasing an NFT on Chalk is a straightforward process that is integrated with the Polygon Mainnet. This guide will walk you through each step from selecting an NFT to completing the transaction.

Step 1: Accessing the Buy NFT Page:

Locate the NFT you wish to purchase and click on it to view its detailed view.

Step 2: Click on Buy NFT

Click the “Buy NFT” button on the NFT Details page. It will open the preview mode with all the details.

Step 3: Completing the Purchase:

  • Ensure your Metamask is connected to the Polygon Mainnet. If you are not connected, a popup will prompt you to switch to the Polygon Mainnet. Follow the instructions to switch networks in Metamask to interact with the blockchain.

  • Click on the “Buy NFT” button to start the minting/buying process.

  • After confirming the transaction, the purchase is processed on the blockchain.

Step 4: Check Post-Purchase Details:

Once the purchase is complete, return to the NFT details page to view your newly acquired NFT.

Your NFT is now visible on platforms like Opensea and Rarible. Click on the icons for Opensea or Rarible to view your NFT in these marketplaces, where it can be showcased or resold.

Additional Information:

  • Network Requirements: Ensure you have sufficient MATIC in your wallet to cover transaction fees on the Polygon network.

  • Marketplace Integration: Direct links to marketplaces enhance visibility and ease of access to your NFT, making it easy to manage or sell on secondary markets.

How to Create New Collection.

Step 1: Create New Collection

Click on the "Create a Collection" link from the header. Enter the name and a short description of your collection and click the "Next" button.

Step 2: Create Allocation

Step 3: Add Contract Details

Once you've purchased the storage for your collection, you'll land on the below page. The first field is for creating total mintable NFTs inside your collection. The second field is your NFT Mint/Buy price in Matic which you'll get when someone mints your NFT.

The third field is for setting up the royalty percentage from 1-10% for your NFT collection when your NFTs are traded in marketplaces after they're minted in Chalk. Click on the "Deploy Contract" button once you're done setting up the fields.

Step 4: Confirm Transactions

You will be asked to approve two Metamask transactions. One is for the contract deployment part, and the second is for setting up to enable the minting of your NFTs.

Chalk uses Polygon Mainnet Network for the NFT collection contract deployment so make sure your Metamask wallet is connected to Polygon Mainnet Network. If you're not connected to Polygon Mainnet already, you'll be asked to connect to it by a popup.

Step 5: Create your First NFT

You have successfully deployed your collection on Polygon. Now, you can either continue creating NFTs within your collection sequentially or add them later through the collection details page. To create an NFT Story, simply enter its name and description, then click the "Create" button.

Your new collection has been created, and you can create your first NFT. You'll be redirected to the collection details field, where you'll see the following popup with the next steps.

Note that when you create a collection and NFT, Chalk uploads placeholder images for them in the background, and then you can always update by clicking on the "Upload Content" button.

How to Upload files to your Collection

Creating a vibrant and engaging NFT collection involves not just minting NFTs but also curating associated media to enhance the visual and contextual appeal of your collection. This guide will walk you through the process of uploading various files to your NFT collection on Chalk Steps to Upload Files to Your NFT Collection:

Step 1: Navigate to Your NFT Collection:

Start by navigating to the NFTs in My Collections you have created. Click on NFT and it will open the details of that NFT.

Step 2: Upload the Content

In the NFT section, click on upload content to start uploading the files.

Step 3: Understand the Folder Structure:

Your collection will typically have three key folders:

  • NFTs: Where your main NFT files are stored.

  • Cover Image: Dedicated to storing the banner image for your collection.

  • Collection Image: For storing images that represent the collection as a whole.

Step 4: Uploading Files:

Upload to NFTs Folder: Click on the 'Upload File' button. Select the files you wish to upload as part of your NFTs. These can include images, videos, text, or PDF files that contribute to the NFT's narrative or artistic value.

In the NFTs folder, consider adding various media files that tell a story about each NFT. This can significantly increase the interest and contextual background of your pieces, making them more appealing to potential buyers.

Upload Cover Image: Navigate to the 'Cover Image' folder. Upload your banner image, which will serve as the background cover of your NFT collection on the marketplace.

Upload Collection Image: Navigate to the 'Collection Image' folder and upload an image to serve as the profile picture for your collection.

Now, the files are uploaded, and your NFT Story is set up.

How to Make Your Collection Immutable

Making your NFT collection immutable is a crucial step in securing the integrity of your digital assets and preparing them for minting and marketplace transactions. This process ensures that no further modifications can be made to the content of the collection, and is ready for minting and public sale.

Here are the steps to make your NFT Collection immutable:

Step 1: Navigate to Your NFT Collection:

Log into your Chalk account and go to the 'My Collections' section, where all your created collections are listed. Find the specific collection you wish to make immutable and select it to view more details.

Step 2: Click on Make Immutable:

Within the collection details page, look for the 'Make Immutable' option. This is typically positioned as a prominent button or link. Click on 'Make Immutable' to initiate the process.

Step 3: Confirm Your Choice:

A confirmation dialog will appear, prompting you to verify your decision. This step is crucial as making a collection immutable is irreversible. Review the implications carefully. Once a collection is made immutable, you can no longer edit or remove any of its contents. You will only be able to upload new items or download existing ones.

Step 4: Collection Status Update:

After confirming, the system will update the status of your collection to immutable.

Once this step is completed, your collection will be preserved in its current state, ready for minting and public sale, providing potential buyers with confidence in the permanence and integrity of the assets they are purchasing.

You'll be asked to select the storage size for your collection. You can buy the size by using or .
